What “Sportback” means
A Sportback looks like a sedan but has a lift-up rear hatch instead of a trunk lid. The opening is bigger, so strollers, golf bags and boxes slide in more easily.

Pick your sedan in three questions
- How much do you haul? The A5’s lift-up hatch takes bikes, boxes and strollers more easily than a trunk.
- Who rides in back? If adults ride with you often, the A6 or the A8 L gives them more room.
- Gas or electric? For electric, look at the A6 Sportback e-tron or the e-tron GT family.
