You may have more equity than you think

Equity is what your car is worth minus what you still owe. Near the end of a loan, it’s often most of the car’s value.

What happens when you pay it off

  • Check who holds your loan. Audi Financial Services, or a bank. Loans under the Audi Retail Finance name are owned and serviced by Wells Fargo, so check your statement.
  • The lien is released. Audi Financial Services releases electronic liens about 10 business days after payoff.
  • Your Pennsylvania title follows. Pennsylvania uses electronic titling. Once the lien is released, PennDOT mails a paper title to you.
  • Keep your service records. They help your value when you trade or sell later.

Your three options

  • Keep it. Enjoy driving it payment-free. Check what’s left on your warranty in our coverage-by-model-year guide, and ask about Audi Care prepaid maintenance.
  • Trade it toward a new Audi. Your equity becomes your down payment. In Pennsylvania, you also pay sales tax only on the price minus your trade value.
  • Sell it to us. Not ready for another car? We buy cars, even if you don’t buy one from us.

Not sure which is right? We’ll show you the numbers for all three.
