Audi Q7 vs. Q9: which three-row Audi fits
The Q9 is about 10 inches longer than the Q7, with standard air suspension and more cargo room behind the third row. If your third row is for occasional use, the Q7 is the better fit. Updated November 2026.

Choose the Q7 if…
- The third row is mostly for kids, carpools or the occasional trip.
- You want an easier fit in village parking spots and older garages.
- You tow a boat or camper. The Q7 is rated for up to 7,700 lb.
Choose the Q9 if…
- You use all three rows and need room for luggage at the same time.
- You want adaptive air suspension as standard equipment.
- You’re also looking at a Cadillac Escalade, Mercedes-Benz GLS or BMW X7.

Three questions to settle it
- How often is every seat full? If it’s every week, the Q9’s extra cargo room behind the third row matters. If it’s a few times a year, the Q7 will do.
- Will it fit your garage? The Q9 is 209 inches long, about 10 inches longer than the Q7. Measure before you visit.
- Do you need one now? The Q7 is on sale now. The Q9 is available to reserve, with limited availability.
Both have the same 429-horsepower V6 and quattro®, so the choice comes down to size, cargo room and standard air suspension.
