Home charging for your Audi e-tron®

A Level 2 charger at home is the single best upgrade for Audi e-tron® ownership. You plug in when you get home and leave with a full battery. Here's what's involved in setting one up and what to ask your electrician.

Why Level 2

A standard 120-volt outlet adds only a few miles of range per hour, which isn't enough for most daily driving. A 240-volt Level 2 charger is many times faster and can fully recharge most commutes overnight.

Choosing a charger

Look for a UL-listed Level 2 charger that matches your Audi's onboard charging rate and the circuit your electrician recommends. Hardwired units can deliver more power than plug-in units. Smart chargers let you schedule charging for off-peak hours. Our team can tell you the charging rate of the model you're considering.

What your electrician will check

A licensed electrician will look at your panel's capacity, the distance from the panel to where you park, and whether you need a permit, which most townships require. Those three things drive most of the installation cost. Get a written quote before work starts.
